However, further research is needed to determine whether ginger will have the same effects on cholesterol levels in humans.
Control of blood sugar
Ginger water can help control blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetics.
In a 12-week study, the researchers divided 41 people with type 2 diabetes into two groups. One group took 2 grams of ginger powder supplement per day, while the placebo group received two. People who ate ginger showed a marked decrease in fasting blood sugar.
In another study, researchers divided 10 men into two groups. I drank one set of hot ginger water after breakfast. The other group does not. Men who drank ginger water reported more fullness.
Although the study was small and additional studies were needed, it indicates that ginger water may have a role in weight control.
